Consumer Narrative

I wrote to formally dispute the validity of an alleged bankruptcy listed on my credit report to LCIXXXX , associated with my Social Security number . This inaccurate and defamatory entry has significantly affected my credit standing and is in violation of multiple provisions within the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and U.S. Code. On XX/XX/XXXX and again on XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Transunion and LCI/XXXX to challenge the accuracy of this entry. I was informed that the data had been verified through XXXX records. On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted a written request to XXXX for all documentation used to verify this alleged bankruptcy, including original documents bearing my signature and that of the Clerk of the Court. XXXX responded stating that they initiated a dispute and resolved the investigation as of XX/XX/XXXX. During their process, they removed the following from my consumer file : BANKRUPTCY RECORD CASE NUMBER XXXX This proves that XXXX no longer reports this record, nor do they submit such data to any credit bureau. I also possess a court document signed by the judge confirming that the alleged bankruptcy court does not share data with third-party agencies. Therefore, XXXX claim of verification through either the court or XXXX or LCIXXXX is demonstrably inaccurate. This conduct is either a grievous error or a willful misrepresentation. In accordance with : -FCRA 611, 15 USC 1681i Reinvestigation of disputed information - FCRA 605B, 15 USC 1681c-2 Blocking of information resulting from identity theft - 15 USC 1681b ( 2 ) Permissible purposes for access - 15 USC 1681q Unauthorized disclosures - 18 USC 1028A Aggravated identity theft I am formally requesting an immediate reinvestigation and removal of the false bankruptcy record from my credit report. This erroneous data violates the FCRA and subjects the responsible parties to potential statutory damages of up to {$1000.00} per violation, including for defamation and negligent enablement of fraud. Additionally, I was included in the TransUnion Class Action Lawsuit, further underscoring the pattern of improper reporting behavior. Please consider this my official notice that I am keeping detailed records of all correspondence and actions related to this matter. Failure to remove this information promptly will result in further pursuit of my legal rights under federal law.
