I had recently opened an EverBank performance savings account with thousands of dollars in it. I tried to add an external transfer account online to send money to, and it said there would be microdeposits made and once I verified the amounts the account would be added. Two days later I try to login and it said my account is locked and to call support. I called and they said they'd send an email to their fraud department to look into it and to expect a call soon. Later that day I get a call saying the suspicious activity was because the name on the external account didn't match mine. Even though I just wanted to transfer money TO the account, they said the names had to match and my account was under review. A few hours later, I get a call saying my " business relationship '' with EverBank is over, and the money will be mailed to me. No explanation, but I assume they overreacted to the slightest unusual thing and freaked out, even though I was able to get a letter of authorization from the account owner, which I could've provided if I'd been given the opportunity to appeal the sudden decision.
