Date / time : On XX/XX/year> I spent about three hours ( XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX ET ) trying to create a new Experian online account. What happened : 1. I phoned Experian. The only human representative I reached was in the Dispute Team. 2. That agent told me my date of birth was incorrect in their records, corrected it, and said the account could now be opened. 3. The agent transferred me to the Membership department, which is an automated system with no live staff. 4. After I entered my information, the recording said it could not help me and directed me back to the website and to call the Dispute Team. 5. I called the Dispute Team again. They confirmed everything looks fine on their side and transferred me back to the same automated Membership line. 6. Steps 35 repeated several times, creating an endless loop between the automated system and the Dispute Team. Result : After three hours and multiple transfers I still can not establish an Experian account, and no one can explain why or provide a human contact in the Membership department. Amounts involved : Nonethis was an account-creation attempt, not a paid service. What I would like : A live Experian representative who can complete my account setup or clearly explain what information is still preventing enrollment. Having a " department '' as a single robot is ridiculous. with no ability to escalate to a supervisor or do anything, how can these beauties which wield so much power over everyday american finances treat us this way.
