Consumer Narrative

XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Connecticut XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XX/XX/year> Subject : Cease and Desist Request for Removal of Unauthorized or Excessive Inquiries Under 15 U.S.C. 1681 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally dispute and request the removal of 74 inquiries & 3 hard inquiries currently appearing on my credit report. These inquiries are either unauthorized, excessive, or were not initiated with my consent, which is a direct violation of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681. According to FCRA 1681b ( c ), no entity may obtain a consumer report or initiate a hard inquiry unless it is done with the consumers explicit authorization and for a permissible purpose such as a credit application, rental agreement, or other valid transaction. I have not authorized such a high number of hard inquiries, and many of these entries have appeared without my knowledge, consent, or legitimate business purpose. As a result, I am formally demanding that you : 1. Cease and desist from further sharing or distributing my consumer report without my explicit written consent. 2. Immediately remove all unauthorized or excessive hard inquiries from my credit report. 3. Provide me with a detailed list of each entity that requested access to my credit file, including the purpose of the inquiry, the date, and a copy of any documentation you have on file showing my consent. 4. Confirm that you have completed this action in writing within 30 days, as required under federal law. These inquiries are negatively impacting my credit score and misrepresent my financial behavior. Failure to remove unauthorized inquiries or respond within the legal timeframe may result in formal complaints being filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ), the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ), and potentially legal action for willful noncompliance with FCRA obligations. This letter is sent via certified mail with return receipt requested to maintain a documented record of this dispute and request. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to receiving written confirmation of the removal of these unauthorized inquiries within 30 days. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX
