I am a victim of identity theft. TransUnion is currently reporting fraudulent data on my credit file, including unauthorized accounts and hard inquiries that I never applied for, authorized, or initiated. Specifically, I am disputing the following items : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX Inquiry dated XX/XX/XXXX This is not a misunderstanding or a question of accuracy it is identity theft. I discovered this in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted a full 605B identity theft block request to TransUnion. It included : FTC Identity Theft Report Government-issued photo ID Social Security card Proof of address A current credit report identifying the fraudulent entries Under federal law, TransUnion is legally obligated to block this information within XXXX business days of receipt. That deadline is XX/XX/XXXX. Per FCRA 605B ( c ) ( 1 ), TransUnion has no discretion. No reinvestigation is permitted. No furnisher confirmation is required. TransUnion must comply. If it fails to do so, it is not just negligent it is in willful violation of federal law, subject to immediate civil liability under 616 and 617. I am documenting this complaint with full expectation of enforcement. Failure to comply will escalate to legal action.
