My car was purchased through American Financial. The company went bankrupt and a debt collection company named WestLake Portfolio Management took over my car. They have charged additional fees on my account for payment. They have repossessed my vehicle and caused damage to the radiator that was replaced. There were warranties on the vehicle that allowed me to get mechanical issues fixed and was considered null and void once they went bankrupt without my knowledge. The company told me I needed to pay the past due amount on my car and never advised me that they would tack another {$500.00} repossession fee on my balance due. I finally paid the vehicle off including repossession fees as they would not negotiate the payment or allow me to speak with a superior to see if the charges could be waived seeing that I was paying the car completely off. Not only am I being met with push back from the rude and disrespectful customer service reps but Im now being lied to about the status of my car and who actually holds the title to my vehicle. When I made payment the rep told me that the title would be received within XXXX weeks. A day later I check the app to confirm my payment has been applied and they have my car in a XXXX day past due status and saying I still owe {$70.00} towards the vehicle. I reached back out to the company today XX/XX/year> and Im now being told it will take up to 60 days to receive a lien release title. I feel that I should have had to pay anything to them whatsoever due to the fact that I never signed a contract with this company and my car was wrongfully stolen ( repossessed ) by a company who doesnt have their name on my title. I really want all the money the I paid into this car back as it doesnt even run any longer and I still made payments in full to obtain the title. None of the warranties and guarantees that were offered to me at the time of purchase is being honored and I dont feel that is fair or legal.
