I am submitting this complaint against Midland Credit Management for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). On XX/XX/2025, I sent a lawful written request to the company requesting validation of a debt allegedly owed. This was sent pursuant to FDCPA 809 ( 15 U.S.C. 1692g ) and included my name, address, and identifying information. I requested original documentation, including : A copy of the signed original contract with the creditor Full chain of assignment or purchase agreement Itemized account history and calculation of the amount claimed In response, I received a computer-generated summary and credit card statement, which does not satisfy the legal requirements for validation. No signed agreement, no admissible evidence, and no proof of assignment were included. Despite this failure to validate the debt, the company continued to report this account to TransUnion, which constitutes : A violation of FDCPA 807 ( 8 ) : Reporting or threatening to report credit information which is known to be disputed A violation of FCRA 623 ( b ) : Failing to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation upon receiving notice of dispute Furthermore, their continued collection efforts and credit reporting after being informed of the dispute and request for validation are misleading and deceptive under FDCPA 807 in general.
