I am disputing the accuracy of an account being reported by Jefferson Capital Systems on my XXXX credit report. The original account was from XXXX XXXX, which was closed in XXXX due to account fraud. Jefferson Capital is currently reporting a Date Opened of XX/XX/XXXX, and updating the account status as of XX/XX/XXXX. This is a clear case of re-aging, as the original date of delinquency occurred no later than late XXXX. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), collection accounts must be removed 7 years after the date of first delinquency not the date the debt was purchased or updated.
