I applied and was approved for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX card by Bread Financial on XX/XX/year>. I used the card via XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/year>. I wasn't able to use the card after that date. I had to call the account security department to be informed that I had to send additional documentation proving I am who I say I am. I emailed the required documents on XX/XX/year>. A few days later, I had to call and ask if they received the documents, but was told they were encrypted ( which is not true, it was just a link they had to press to view the documents ). I then mailed the documents to Bread Financial on XX/XX/year>. On XX/XX/year> I called and asked how long reviewing the documents would take, I was told up to 30 days. I emailed Bread Financials executive team the same day stating that holding an account for over a month without reason was unacceptable. I received no response other than an automated reply. I called Bread Financial on XX/XX/year> to receive a status of the account since it's been over a month since I sent the required documents. I expected the account hold to be withdrawn. I was then told by the account protection team representative it could take XXXX days which is XXXX XXXX longer than what I was originally told by the account protection team. I asked why there was a change from XXXX to XXXX XXXX but received no answer. Since the dates kept changing and I received no clear answer on why the account was flagged in the first place, I requested to close the account. They refused to do so.
