Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/year>, I visited XXXX XXXX XXXX and applied for vehicle financing with the assistance of a salesperson named XXXX. Shortly after submitting my information, I received alerts that my credit was pulled by at least seven different lenders, including Mercedes-Benz Financial Services ( MBFS ), XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and others. These were hard inquiries that significantly l owered my credit score. I did not authorize these lenders individually. No explanation or consent form was provided to justify sharing my credit report with so many third parties. Despite the harm done to my credit, I never received a formal credit approval, denial, or loan offer. XXXX stopped responding. Another associate, XXXX XXXX, briefly reached out but failed to follow up after I returned his call. I even left a voicemail for the Finance Manager with no reply. Eventually, I received only a generic Credit Score Disclosure form ( CBC Form CSD02 ) with no terms, conditions, or credit decision. I later filed a complaint with the CFPB against MBFS ( Case # XXXX ), and they responded stating only one inquiry was madethis is false and misleading. I have documented proof that multiple inquiries were conducted on that day, directly resulting from this dealership 's shotgun application practice. MBFS admitted in writing they made a decision on XX/XX/year>, yet no communication or denial was ever shared with me by the dealership. I believe XXXX XXXX XXXX mishandled my sensitive credit information, violated fair lending practices, and failed to provide the protections required under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). This has caused credit damage, emotional distress, and financial hardship.
