Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) Complaint Subject : Credit Card Debt Collection Jefferson Capital Systems LLC To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding two credit card debt collection accounts listed with Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. These accounts have been reported to my credit file, but I have serious concerns regarding their validity and the lack of information provided to me. When I attempted to access information through Jefferson Capital 's website using my name and the last four digits of my Social Security number, I received a message stating that no account information was available. Despite this, these debts continue to appear on my credit report and show an outstanding balance. Furthermore, I have never received any written communication, validation notice, or account details from Jefferson Capital regarding either of these debts. This lack of transparency raises concerns about compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), particularly the requirement to provide verification of the debt upon request. I contacted Jefferson Capitals customer service to notify them that I receive Supplemental Security Income ( SSI ) and have limited ability to repay debts. I requested assistance or a hardship program, but I have not received any adequate response or resolution to date. I respectfully request the CFPB to investigate the following : The legitimacy and origin of the debts listed by Jefferson Capital Systems. Why I have not received any written notices or validation information. Whether the creditor is properly handling and reporting debts in accordance with the law. Assistance in ensuring that my rights as a consumer receiving SSI are protected and that I am not being unfairly treated or harassed for payment I can not afford.
