Dear. XXXX XXXX XXXX, Hope you are doing well! I was charged interest from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX ( {$240.00} total ), but Discover never proactively alerted me about these charges or explained that minimum payments would void my grace period. Key issues : For 8 months, I had no idea interest was accruing because Discover : 1. Buried the terms in fine print ( no bold/color warnings ). 2. Sent no emails, S MS, or pop-up notices about the growing interest. 3. This violates Regulation Z ( TILA ) which requires ongoing, clear disclosures of interest charges. Details : For the {$240.00} payment with the payment dates are XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. And they said " Your interest and how it is accrued was listed on your cardmember agreement when opening the account and printed on every statement. ", but, based on " Regulation Z " : Credit card terms must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, using plain language and prominent formatting ( e.g., bold text, headings ).
