As I am working toward homeownership, I began reviewing my credit report on XX/XX/year>. I noticed a concerning XXXX account and requested an investigation. XXXX responded by claiming the account was verified, but despite numerous requests and submitting proof of my identity multiple times ( both online and by mail ). I have never received valid documentation proving the debt is mine or accurate. Additionally, I have observed that the credit bureaus are reporting this XXXX account as open and charged off, while also showing it as XXXX days late, then XXXX days late, and so on, each month, as if it continues to accrue new delinquencies even after being charged off. This appears to be abusive and misleading financial reporting. If it's not illegal to continue to open and close accounts without consumer knowledge, it should be. This situation has had a devastating impact on my credit and is preventing me from moving forward with important life goals. Please investigate this matter thoroughly and assist in correcting or removing this inaccurate information.
