I am filing a formal complaint against Equifax for failing to correct inaccurate and unverifiable information on my credit report, despite having submitted a complete and valid dispute. On two separate occasions most recently via certified mail on XX/XX/year> I provided Equifax with valid identification, proof of my Social Security number, and documentation confirming my correct name and address. I clearly outlined the inaccurate entries and requested a reinvestigation as outlined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Equifax failed to correct or remove the disputed information and did not provide a proper response, investigation summary, or verification of the data as required under : 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) failure to ensure maximum possible accuracy, 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) failure to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation, 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 6 ) failure to notify me of the reinvestigation results, 15 U.S.C. 1681n & 1681o potential willful or negligent noncompliance. This is now my second dispute, and Equifax continues to report inaccurate information in violation of federal law. I am requesting that the CFPB take immediate action to ensure Equifax complies with the FCRA and updates or deletes the inaccurate data in a timely and lawful manner.
