I have a Comenity Bank XXXX through XXXX. They manipulated me just now over the phone .. glad they are on a recorded line so you can listen for yourself. This started back in XXXX after I got a fee because their website payment processing was not working. I had contacted them over messages letting them know this issue and they were not resolving my issue and charged me a fee for being late. After going back and forth with them on messages for a month about this because I never have time to make phone calls I always have screaming children around me- it was now XXXX payment due. I made the payment on my due date and planned on continuing to attempt to resolve XXXX 's issue over messages. Then I saw that they charged me a few for me paying after XXXX XXXX on my due date. That set me over my edge to be honest and now I am messaging them about that issue as well. Their communication on messages is awful and they don't really read what you are saying to them. So I finally had a chance today to make a phone call to them knowing I was going to have to do this whole back and forth all over again but hoping it will get resolved quicker since I can talk to someone. Wrong. I was manipulated on this call and I have never experienced this type of treatment from a financial institution.. EVER. They said they were not even going to attempt to refund the XXXX despite the issues I had when attempting my payment and that they would refund me the fee in XXXX ONLY if I do not close my credit card account. They said if I close my credit card account then the fee refund balance will be added back to my account. They would not just refund the fee because that I what was right.. no. They are doing it so I don't close my account and nothing else. I asked to speak with a manager and manager was less helpful than the first woman I spoke with and refused to help me with XXXX and repeated once again that I would only get XXXX refunded if I don't close my account and if I close I won't get the refund. I asked to speak with someone above her and she said there wasn't anyone I could speak with. So that's why I am here. I was backed into a corner. I don't know if I should seek legal action about the manipulation or not. If you want proof of call logs, messages I had with them back and forth, transaction history please let me know would be happy to provide. You have my full permission to pull that phone call I just got off of.
