I've been an amex customer for over a decade and have never had my account in bad standing. Do to a bank error one of my amex payments was rejected. I paid the fee, but amex suspended the account attached to the autopay and a technical error prevented me from modifying autopay in any way, it was stuck on but unbeknownst to me nonfunctional. Every month I'd check in to see autopay was scheduled to run, and every month it wouldn't go through and id get a late fee. I would then try to submit a payment on the website, but it wouldn't allow me to due to the suspended bank account even though I had multiple other valid options. It wouldn't even let me remove the suspended account, and it took customer service an hour to do to themselves when I called in today. They refuse to reimburse the late fees even though they were only levied against my account due to the deceptive and buggy nature of their website
