Hi, I am writing to formally dispute the inaccurate reporting of a debt related to my former apartment. The account in question is being reported on my Experian credit file. The apartment XXXX of XXXX XXXX under XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX claims that I missed rent for XX/XX/XXXX. I provided XXXX XXXX with the documents that I paid the rent and she apologized and said she will XXXX out to her accountant team but this has been since XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX ( The collection agency ) has also asked me to submit the proof via their portal and as of XX/XX/XXXX they said it is still being reviewed. With all of the proof, This is not only inaccurate, but it is also demonstrably false based on the documentation Ive attached. And Experian is not explaining anything either I have all of the proof and no one is considering it. The apartments accountant team has not responded or reviewed the case, the collection agency as of XX/XX/XXXX told my lawyer and o that it can take anywhere from 30-60 days to even review what I submitted and so I am so confused on where Experian is getting their solution from to dismiss this when the XXXX herself apologized for the incident. Summary of Key Points : On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted my rent payment through the resident portal and received a confirmation email and reference number proving the payment was processed. I also reviewed the official ledger provided by the apartment. Every month shows a payment and includes a Document # or transaction code except for XXXX, which is completely blank and also supports the apartment Manager XXXX XXXX claim. This supports that there is likely a system error or internal misrecording, not a missed payment. My bank statement also confirms that the funds were withdrawn from my account on XX/XX/XXXX, aligning with the portal confirmation. Youll also see a chat from my banks representative stating the funds were indeed pulled by the apartments and not reversed. Beginning in XX/XX/XXXX, all payments were made online ( listed as XXXX ), while earlier payments such as in XXXX and XXXX were made via money order ( XXXX ) all of which are clearly recorded in the ledger. This makes the absence of a XXXX entry even more suspicious and inconsistent. Despite submitting all of this evidence, Experian closed the dispute and marked the item as verified and updated with no explanation and no resolution. If the furnishing party confirmed the debt, that would indicate they ignored or overlooked the documentation I provided. This inaccurate tradeline is negatively impacting my credit score and delaying my ability to secure housing. I am requesting that the CFPB and/or data furnisher conduct a more thorough review, and remove or correct this item based on the evidence provided. I have attached : The ledger with highlighted inconsistencies My bank statement showing the XX/XX/XXXX debit The XXXX payment confirmation from the portal A copy of Experians verified and updated dispute closure My lawyer and I also contacted the collection agency directly to request proof of the alleged debt. Unfortunately, the representative we spoke with was unprofessional they raised their voice and abruptly ended the call without providing any information or assistance. Separately, we followed up with the apartment manager, who continues to say, I still have not heard back from our accountant team, referring to the documents she claimed to have sent weeks ago. To ensure all parties were properly notified, I also sent a formal letter via certified mail to the ownership group of the apartment complex.
