To Whom It XXXX Concern, I am writing to formally dispute a debt listed on my credit report in relation to a prior lease agreement. The debt, reported by XXXX XXXX Collections is not valid and should be removed from my credit file. The facts are as follows : We received a lease renewal offer but declined to renew and provided written notice within XXXX days, in accordance with our agreement. We vacated the property on XX/XX/year>, and were paid up through the end of the lease term. We have substantial documentation showing our notice of intent to move, as well as video evidence of the property 's condition upon our departure. The charges associated with this alleged debt are unexplained and unjustified. We were expecting the return of our security deposit, not additional charges. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), I am requesting that this disputed account be investigated and removed from my credit report. I can provide proof of email correspondence with the rental company that are relevant documents supporting my position, including notice of move-out and any applicable correspondence. Please conduct an investigation and provide a written response within the XXXX timeframe required by law.
