I am filing this formal complaint regarding the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and their reporting of late payments on my mortgage account from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. During that time, I was experiencing documented financial hardship, which XXXX was fully aware of. I communicated my hardship to them directly and sought assistance. As part of my relief process, I was approved for and received help intended to bring my account current and cover the balance I could not afford at the time. Despite receiving financial assistance and being in contact with XXXX regarding my situation, they continued to report me as late to the credit bureaus. This action was not only unfair and harmful, but it also appears to violate the following federal consumer protection laws 15 USC 1666b and 15 USC 1681e ( b ). XXXX has a legal obligation to ensure that the information it furnishes to the credit reporting agencies is based on reasonable procedures to ensure maximum possible accuracy. Reporting me as late during an approved hardship and while XXXX funds were being applied contradicts this responsibility.
