Consumer Narrative

In XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX I entered into an agreement with National Home Buyers Alliance. After careful review of the application I signed, and they immediately began to deduct {$440.00} a month from my checking account. It was my understanding that during the first year, not only would assist with increasing my credit score but help to have me in a position to purchase within that first year. They failed on both fronts! First, I would occasionally get a call from a lady named XXXX, and all she would ask is " Where is your credit score, are you keeping your credit cards under 30 %, and do you have the {$3000.00} dollars in saving? '' Not once did XXXX offer guidance on how to increase my credit score which the agreement stated was part of the service, so I had to take take the necessary steps to increase the score myself. In the summer of XXXX, they put me in touch with a broker by the name of XXXX XXXX. I now the credit score, income, and the down payment that I was told that I need in order to qualify. Only to find out when it was time to find a lender, XXXX did nothing but give me excuses as to why he could not get the loan to go through. I was renting at the time and signing short term leases in hopes of finding a lender. That process was costly because with the short term loan, I was paying {$350.00} more a month than if I would have just signed for another year. After a few additional months of frustration, I finally told them that I was going to have an attorney review the agreement and start the process of getting my money refunded. It was then that they said they would make sure that we were able to get this process completed. Once again, I signed another short term lease. Needless to say, they did nothing but a few phone calls here and there from XXXX. After two years, here I sit, out of {$5300.00} and nothing to show for it. I truly believe that this was a scam to begin with and would like whatever assistance that I can get to retrieve the money that was taken.
