Firstmark/XXXX continues to report a derogatory student loan account that was paid in full on XX/XX/year>. Despite confirmation of full payment, the account still shows a past due balance and is damaging my credit. I contacted the company directly and they refused to remove the account, falsely claiming they are unable to do so due to federal regulations. This is incorrect and misleading. Under FCRA Section 607 ( b ) and 611 ( a ), furnishers must report accurate and complete information. Keeping a fully paid account listed as derogatory is noncompliant and deceptive. This account is resolved and should no longer appear in any negative form. This is hurting my credit score and impacting my ability to secure housing and credit approvals.
