Consumer Narrative

To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this formal complaint against multiple furnishers and credit reporting agencies concerning the continued inaccurate, incomplete, and harmful reporting of several tradelines on my consumer credit reports. Despite prior disputes and requests for verification, the following accounts remain erroneously reported : XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Listed as a charge-off since XX/XX/XXXX with a high balance of {$2000.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX * Reported as a charge-off since XX/XX/XXXX with a balance of {$32000.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Charge-off dated XX/XX/XXXX for {$24000.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Two separate accounts, one recently opened on XX/XX/XXXX with late payment status, the other opened XX/XX/XXXX with repeated delinquencies XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Listed as a collection opened on XX/XX/XXXX for {$140.00} These entries are materially misleading and in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq. Under 1681i, consumer reporting agencies are required to conduct reasonable reinvestigations upon dispute and correct or delete any unverifiable or inaccurate information. I have not received proper validation or corrections in response to my disputes. Under 1681s-2, furnishers of information are obligated to report data with maximum accuracy. Their continued failure to update, correct, or remove demonstrably invalid itemsespecially when charge-offs remain long after statutory timelines, or where the debt may have been forgiven or uncollectibleconstitutes a reckless disregard for their duties under federal law. This behavior also violates the standards of 1681e ( b ), which require reasonable procedures to assure accuracy. I am especially concerned about possible 1099 -C forgiveness related to XXXXXXXX and XXXX XXXX. If these debts were canceled for tax purposes, they should no longer be reported as active charge-offs under IRS Publication 4681 guidelines. Misreporting such items misleads potential creditors and causes real financial harm. I have suffered multiple denials of credit, increased insurance premiums, and emotional distress due to this persistently false reporting. My efforts to resolve these issues directly with the bureaus and furnishers have yielded only template responses or dismissive form letters, which fail to meet the investigative standards outlined by the CFPB and FTC. Please treat this complaint as an urgent request for enforcement. I ask that the CFPB compel the named furnishers and reporting agencies to provide full and verifiable documentation supporting their entries or to delete the inaccurate information entirely. Further, I request a supervisory review of these entities compliance procedures under 12 CFR 1022. If no resolution is forthcoming within 10 days of this notice, I reserve my rights under 15 U.S.C. 1681n and 1681o to pursue civil damages for willful and negligent noncompliance. I also intend to escalate this matter to the Federal Trade Commission, my State Attorney General, and other relevant authorities. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust the CFPB will take appropriate action to enforce federal protections and ensure my consumer data is reported fairly and lawfully.
