Consumer Narrative
This COMPLAINT serves as a formal follow-up to my previous complaint submitted last month regarding inaccurate and damaging information being reported on my credit file. I am requesting your immediate assistance in launching a formal investigation into the reporting of a late payment that I categorically deny. I have never been late on the account ( s ) in question. I have always made my payments on time and have maintained a responsible credit history. The inclusion of any late payment ( s ) on my credit report is inaccurate and a clear reporting error, either by your agency or the original creditor. This inaccurate information is causing me significant distress and has already resulted in a wrongful denial of credit, which was not only financially damaging but personally embarrassing. As you are no doubt aware, credit bureaus are legally obligated to ensure the accuracy of consumer data under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). ACCOUNT:1.XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Balance : {$29000.00} Date Opened : XX/XX/scrub>/2024 Under 15 U.S. Code 1681 ( a ) : ( 1 ) The banking system depends on accurate and fair credit reporting. Errors disrupt system efficiency and damage consumer trust. ( 3 ) Consumer reporting agencies have a critical duty to properly assemble and evaluate information on consumers. Given that the reported late payment is erroneous, I am formally requesting that : A full reinvestigation of this item be conducted in accordance with the FCRA. The inaccurate late payment entry be permanently removed from my credit report. My credit file be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. Please consider this a formal dispute under the FCRA. I respectfully request that you provide written confirmation once this error has been investigated and removed.
