BMO Credit Card had failed to acknowledge that I was told by an employee to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) about the charges when I first noticed the charges and was told I shouldn't have given them my card information to have on file. I told the BMO Rep I have never used this company ; her response to me was How did they have my card information. I then asked for a supervisor who called back days later. The Supervisor told me that I was given the wrong information. I gave XXXX my card information to remove from their records. At this time, I was issued a new card from BMO. Later, I also found out that XXXX was a fraudulent company that stole my identity BMO should have a complaint on file with the first Rep I spoke to. There is a police report on file with me being a victim of identity theft. This is a clear case of fraud. I should have never been asked to contact XXXX. I am appalled that BMO has failed to acknowledge the complaint against their employee who asked me to contact XXXX with my card information. A supervisor at BMO acknowledged that I was given incorrect information by this representative. BMO downplaying the pending FBI case attached against XXXX, saying it was before the card was issued, is absurd! I was a victim of identity theft before BMO issued the card. Check the Credit Bureaus! Anything dealing with fraud should be removed from a person 's credit report.This has been in my file for several years and needs to be deleted.
