Consumer Narrative

Re : Formal Dispute of Inaccurate Charge-Off XXXX XXXX Account Number : XXXX To Whom It May Concern, This letter serves as a formal dispute under my rights granted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). I am requesting an immediate investigation and removal of the XXXX XXXX charge-off account listed on my credit report. This account contains multiple material inaccuracies that violate federal law and your obligations under the FCRA. Under 15 U.S. Code 1681e ( b ), you are required to ensure that all information you report is complete and accurate. Additionally, per 15 U.S. Code 1681i ( a ) ( 5 ), if an item is found to be inaccurate or unverifiable, you must either correct it or delete it entirely from the consumers credit file. Specifically : The account was paid in full after closure ; however, the report inaccurately reflects an unpaid or charged-off status. Despite payment, interest continued to accrue, which is in direct violation of the terms presented after closure. There is inconsistency in how this account is being reported across the three credit bureaus, a clear sign of non-uniform and inaccurate data. I have attached supporting documentation ( bank statement ) that clearly proves payment in full was made and that further charges were applied improperly. In light of the above, I formally demand : 1. A complete investigation into the XXXX XXXX entry. 2. Immediate deletion of the account from all three credit bureaus if full accuracy can not be verified. 3. A written response confirming deletion or detailed documentation proving otherwise within 3045 days. If you fail to comply, I will move forward with litigation to pursue {$1000.00} in damages for each inaccuracy as permitted by the FCRA, due to your willful noncompliance with federal reporting standards. Please be advised this letter serves as legal notice. I am documenting all communication and reserve the right to escalate this matter accordingly. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX : [ XXXX ] Enclosures : Copy of valid ID Proof of address ( utility bill or lease ) Bank statement showing payment Copy of credit reports showing inaccuracies
