I paid off a credit card from a tire company ( XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ), they use XXXX for their credit cards. The card got sent to collections. The collection company and myself agreed on me being put on auto-payments so the card could be paid off. The card was paid off around XXXX of XXXX. I spoke with a supervisor that confirmed the card had been paid off. I requested proof that the card had been paid off and never received it. Not via email or mail. I never received any further communication from the CBE group ( the first debt collecting agency ). Then, XXXX years later, I receive another letter in the mail ( dated XX/XX/XXXX ) from a different debt collecting agency that is requesting the exact amount I paid to the CBE group. The second debt collecting agency is called XXXX XXXX ( phone number : XXXX ). I explained to them the same thing, they said they would follow back up with me after XXXX hours, that was over two weeks ago. Since I had not heard from them after 72 hours, I decided to call. I was told that their systems were down and they couldn't help me because they couldn't verify my information due to their systems being down. I called again the next day and was told that the department I am needing is not in office. Every time I call and explain my situation, I am given a lousy excuse and am never helped properly. This collection on my credit report has hindered me from multiple growth opportunities.
