Consumer Narrative
XXXX XXXX has repeatedly and antagonistically attempted to collect a debt that is not owed. I leased a car from XXXX XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX, Account # XXXX. I returned the car at the XXXX dealership in XXXX Maryland before the lease-end date of XX/XX/XXXX with less miles than the contract amount of XXXX mileage. I paid all lease payments on time and had my car in for all service checks in accordance with the three-year lease agreement. The car was returned in excellent condition with normal wear and tear on the tires. According to XXXX records, my car was inspected on XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX XXXX Turn-In Settlement Invoice I received subsequent to this inspection ( undated ) showed a charge of excessive wear of two front tires in the amount of {$970.00} ( $ XXXX ) which is unwarranted the tires were returned with normal wear and tear for the type of tires on the vehicle. Note : the invoice also showed a {$50.00} charge for a scratched wheel which I paid immediately along with the disposition fee. I have written a total of five ( 5 ) letters to XXXX XXXX starting in XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX disputing the tire charges. In my letters I included records from the XXXX service department in XXXX Maryland for the required service checks, which stated the tires were inspected during the service visit, had even wear, and did not require rotation. To date, I have not received any follow-up correspondence from XXXX XXXX in response to my letters ; instead XXXX XXXX increased the amount owed from {$970.00} to {$1000.00}. In addition, XXXX XXXX ( VW Credit ) has placed a debt with each of the credit bureaus that has lowered my credit score, which prior to this event has always been Excellent. Lastly, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from a debt collector, XXXX, requesting collection of the debt in the amount of {$1000.00}, which I have disputed. XXXX recurrent pursuit of this fraudulent charge has resulted in damage to my Excellent credit score and their non-stop harassment has caused harm to me and my family.
