Consumer Narrative
Received high premium quotes from a renter 's insurance provider when renewing my current lease on XX/XX/year>. Also received a notice for Fair Credit Report Act from the insurance provider the same day with that I was not provided best quotes based on information from LexisNexis - a credit reporting agency. Contacted LexisNexis to obtain a copy of said report via their online form that asked from my name, date of birth, address, email address, phone number, drivers license number, issuing state and social security number on XX/XX/year>. Received an email confirmation of this request on XX/XX/year>. Received snail mail on XX/XX/year> that LexisNexis could not verify my identity. Tried submitting a request for copy of adverse action report letter via email ( XXXX ) with reference number from insurance provider and online application history on XX/XX/year>. Received reply on XX/XX/year> to call LexisNexis XXXX XXXX at XXXX. Called the XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/year> and provided my name, date of birth, address, driver 's license and issuing state and case reference number information from insurance provider. After a " brief '' hold, I was told LexisNexis could not verify my identity and that I would need to upload a copy of my driver 's license to the LexisNexis website. At this point this company has online and verbally asked for all that may be needed to steal my identity or run a scam, and now to make it worse, they want a copy of my id with no guarantee that anything will come out of it. I have concerns with that approach. How do I know it is falling in the right hands and will stay secure? If they made an adverse action recommendation to anyone, they should be mandated to share a copy of the report with the person they are making the claim against.
