Higher Education Act ( HEA ). If the loan is a federal student loan Federal loan servicers must provide accurate and complete reporting, and borrowers must receive all due process rights, including the right to dispute or appeal adverse actions. They inaccurately reported incorrect balance, status, dates, and ownership, and they also accessed my private information without my permission, and also improperly verified or not verified at all after I submitted a dispute. This inaccurate report caused me financial harm by lowering my credit score and limiting access to credit, housing, and employment.
