I am filing a complaint against the reporting agencies for failing to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) regarding inaccurate information on my credit report. Despite my efforts to resolve this issue, the credit reporting agencies have not met its legal obligations to provide accurate and complete information, nor have they conducted a reasonable investigation as required under the FCRA. I had inaccurate late payments and inaccurate amounts on an account that was in fact paid on time. The consumer reporting agencies need to report all information with complete accuracy. This account has not been late on payments. I submitted a dispute to providing all necessary documentation to demonstrate that the information was inaccurate. However, the reporting agencies failed to investigate the dispute within the required 30-day period, as stipulated in Section 1681i of the FCRA, and the inaccurate information has not been corrected. Additionally, the credit reporting agencies did not provide me with a timely or meaningful response regarding the results of their investigation, as required by law. As a result, the credit reporting agencies are violating my rights under the FCRA by failing to conduct a proper investigation. I am requesting that Equifax, Experian, and Transunion immediately update the inaccurate information from my credit report to paid on time, and I ask the CFPB to investigate this matter to ensure that all three agencies complies with the FCRA and upholds my rights as a consumer.
