On XX/XX/year> of XXXX ( late fri. Night after XXXX ) I got an alert someone was trying to open online business banking accounts in my and my wifes names. Monday morning just after Wells Fargo bank opened I was in there office and met with the XXXX. As the story unfolded, fraudsters had opened numerous accounts in our names and transferred large sums of money out of XXXX of our XXXX WF accounts and piliged those new accounts with XXXX, XXXX, over XXXX atm withdrawals in 1 day from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and various other fraud attacks. Damages were in the high tens of thousands as best we can tell. While the bank did eventually reimburse us for what they deemed the fraud, they also terminated our XXXX year relationship and left us to fend for ourselves without even the ability to pay a bill or accept a deposit or pay for medical needs. Though we spent almost daily time in the bank, communications were awful and went to multiple mailing addresses including Cashiers checks. Things were so confused that the bank even took fraudster instructions to reopen a closed account.
