Consumer Narrative

I am reporting a fraudulent XXXX XXXX XXXX account that continues to be reinserted on my credit reports, even after being previously deleted by Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. I submitted a valid FTC Identity Theft Report, and all three bureaus confirmed the account was removed. However, the XXXX account continues to be re-added to my credit report without proper notice or investigation. Earlier this month, these companies responded to a previous CFPB complaint saying the account was deleted but that was not true. The account is still being reported and continues to harm my credit. In addition, during my most recent call with Experian, they mistakenly marked my legitimate XXXX XXXX credit card account as fraudulent and deleted it from my report. As a result, XXXX XXXX wrongfully closed my account, thinking it was part of the fraud. This account was in good standing and completely valid. I did not dispute it, and this error was entirely caused by Experians mishandling of my identity theft dispute. This has severely impacted my credit score, removed years of positive credit history, and created financial hardship. I take pride in my credit and now have to deal with the fallout of having a legitimate account wrongfully closed. I am requesting full enforcement of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681c2, which includes the right to block information resulting from identity theft, and protection from reinsertion of fraudulent items without proper notice. I am reporting a fraudulent XXXX XXXX XXXX account that continues to reappear on my credit reports, even after Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion previously confirmed that it was deleted. I submitted a valid FTC Identity Theft Report, and all three bureaus acknowledged that the account was removed. However, it has since been reinserted without notice or proper investigation, which violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Earlier this month, these companies responded to my previous CFPB complaint saying the XXXX account had been deleted but that was false. It is still being reported and is actively harming my credit. To make matters worse, during my most recent call with Experian, they mistakenly marked my legitimate XXXX XXXX credit card as fraudulent, and deleted it from my credit report. As a result, XXXX XXXX closed my account, which was in good standing. I never disputed that account this was an error made by Experian, not me. Now, a valid, positive account is gone from my credit file, causing further damage to my credit history and score. This situation has caused emotional distress, financial disruption, and ongoing harm to my creditworthiness. I take pride in maintaining excellent credit, and I have done everything right on my part including filing an FTC Identity Theft Report, submitting multiple disputes, and contacting the credit bureaus directly.
