Consumer Narrative
The attached documents support my additional claim submitted on XX/XX/XXXX. The purchase total offered to me by XXXX XXXX was {$14000.00}. I was pressured to finance through a private lender for XXXX XXXX, Automotive Financial of America. I was forced to purchase GAP insurance. I was personally " interviewed '' by the lender so she could " determine my character. '' My payments were scheduled bi-weekly. I was never provided a copy of the numerous pages of the poorly printed, somewhat not legible stack of loan agreement pages. I was exhausted, stressed, perplexed with the entire questionable transaction and was rushed through the process. My purchase price XXXX XXXX presented to me of {$14000.00} had random, deceptive fees added that I was never informed as I was rushed through signing a stack of pages. Automotive Financial of America and XXXX XXXX scammed and robbed me into a shocking {$28000.00} new loan amount. I was made to feel thar this was my only Financial opinion, embarrassed and worthless. For the past 3 years I have made bi-weekly payments on this predatory loan. My health declined causing me to be hospitalized, I lost my job. I am in desperate financial hardship. I reached out to Automotive Financial explaining my situation and requested a financial hardship payment plan until I am able to become stable. Automotive Financial refused to provide me with any options. I made a payment to Automotive Financial on XX/XX/XXXX. I explained that I would be able to make additional payments in XXXX. I received an email from Automotive Financial after making the payment stating they would talk to me soon confirming receipt of my payment. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter in the mail from Automotive Financial informing me I have to pay {$1200.00} by XX/XX/XXXX or they will repossess my car. I was never informed of this when I made my payment. I requested the complete loan documents on XX/XX/XXXX. I received an email with only the attached 4 pages. The first page of the loan is something I have never seen. The GAP insurance that I was forced to purchase at nearly {$1000.00} was canceled per my request late XXXX. I was first informed that I would be mailed the refund balance. I was then informed by Automotive Financial who completed the cancelation form with my cancelation request that Automotive Financial would apply the refund to my loan and the amount was a little over {$200.00}. I wasn't given any other option and my loan balance was not decreased. After making 3 years of payments my loan balance is still over {$10000.00}. I attempted to trade the vehicle in for a safe, operable vehicle vehicle and was informed that the vehicle was only worth parts by numerous dealerships including XXXX XXXX. I have reached out to Automotive Financial throughout the years informing them of the continuous mechanical and electrical issues. I was scammed into purchasing a used vehicle from XXXX XXXX in XXXX assured a complete service inspection was done. The vehicle started having mechanical and electrical issues and the check engine light came on a week after I purchased it. I have lost thousands of dollars on repairs in the past.XXXX XXXX.
