Despite submitting multiple disputes, neither Navy Federal nor the credit bureaus have provided a method of verification or a detailed description of the investigation as required by 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ). The reported late payment is unsupported by any documentation or lawful evidence. Under 15 U.S.C. 1666b, a creditor may not treat a payment as late if it was received by 5 p.m. on the due date. Navy Federal has not demonstrated compliance with this rule or shown how the alleged late payment meets this standard. Navy Federal is also in violation of : 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) by furnishing inaccurate data. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( b ) by failing to properly investigate the dispute after notice from a consumer reporting agency. 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) by failing to ensure maximum possible accuracy. Their continued reporting of this derogatory item is causing me ongoing harm and distress. I demand the immediate deletion of the false XXXX late payment from all credit bureaus and confirmation in writing. Please investigate and hold Navy Federal accountable for these violations.
