Consumer Narrative

I am disputing the following collection accounts that have been added to my credit report without my knowledge or consent : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX These accounts are the result of identity theft and are being reported in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). I never received a written notice of these debts, nor was I given any opportunity to dispute or validate them as required by law. Under 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( a ) of the FDCPA, a debt collector must send a written notice within five days of initial communication, including the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor, and a statement of my right to dispute the debt. This did not happen for any of the accounts listed above. Additionally, under 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( b ) of the FCRA, furnishers of information are required to conduct a reasonable investigation when a dispute is submitted. No proper investigation was conducted, and the inaccurate information remains on my credit reports. These are willful violations of federal consumer protection laws. Per 15 U.S.C. 1681n and 15 U.S.C. 1692k, I am entitled to {$1000.00} per violation in statutory damages, in addition to actual damages and further relief. I am requesting the immediate deletion of all fraudulent and unvalidated accounts from my credit reports and a formal investigation into the collectors failure to comply with federal law. If not resolved promptly, I will pursue further legal remedies.
