What happened? I am filing this complaint because Transunion continues to report inaccurate late payments on my mortgage account ending in XXXX, showing XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and 30 days late for several months in XXXX and XXXX. I formally disputed this reporting in writing on XX/XX/XXXX, but Equifax has failed to provide verification or correction. This reporting is inaccurate, misleading, and incomplete, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) ), which requires that all information on a consumer report be complete, accurate, and verifiable. Despite my formal dispute, Transunion has not conducted a reasonable reinvestigation or provided any documentation to support the accuracy of these reported late payments. This ongoing reporting continues to misrepresent my payment history, damage my credit, and violate federal law, including 15 U.S.C. 1681i and 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( b ). I am requesting the CFPBs assistance to ensure that Transunion corrects the payment history to show an accurate never late status or removes the account entirely if they can not verify the information with complete and factual evidence.
