Someone attempted to fraudulently open a XXXX XXXX credit card in my name. The card was denied, however I am unable to report it to the credit bureaus, because they require the information to be taken over the phone and the wait times are over an hour long ( Experian ). The first time I called I was disconnected after XXXX minutes. The second time I called I was transferred after another XXXX minute wait. Therefore this increases my risk of future credit fraud, and doesn't allow the credit inquiry to be removed from my report. It is possible that my personal data is still available to criminals due to the XXXX data breach several years ago.
