I am filing a formal complaint against Heartland ECSI for inaccurate and unfair negative reporting on my credit file related to my student loan account ( Heartland Key : XXXX ). Despite maintaining active autopay and making every scheduled monthly loan payment, Heartland ECSI reported me as delinquent for XX/XX/XXXX. This delinquency is unfair, inaccurate, and caused by servicing failures, not borrower fault. Here are the facts : I have made every required $ 40 monthly payment on time through active autopay, including XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX, Heartland previously mishandled my payments they failed to process a payment despite my bank information being valid. I contacted their customer service last year through phone, made an additional {$40.00} payment by phone to cover any late fee or outstanding balance, and was assured that the issue was resolved. Despite this, Heartland failed to process my payment and again claimed a balance due from a late fee without properly charging my active autopay account or notifying me effectively beyond mailing letters. I reasonably believed that my account was in good standing because I continued to make my required loan payments and had valid bank information on file for automatic payments. At no time did I intentionally miss any loan payment or receive real-time electronic notice that additional manual payment was needed. Even if a small late fee existed, the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and servicer guidance make clear that borrowers who are current on their scheduled payments should not be reported delinquent solely for administrative fees. Heartlands actions failing to process payments correctly, failing to clear balances after extra payments, and then improperly reporting me delinquent are servicing errors that have unfairly damaged my credit score. I am requesting that Heartland ECSI : Immediately correct my account to reflect no delinquency. Remove the derogatory information from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Provide written confirmation of the correction. I am attaching documentation showing consistent monthly payments and my active autopay setup. I respectfully ask for CFPB intervention to ensure my rights under the FCRA are enforced and my credit is restored.
