An email was sent to me at XXXX on XX/XX/scrub>XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX reporting that I had a hard inquiry done on my credit. Following XXXXXXXX XXXX email, I received 3 emails from Capital One, also at XXXX on XXXX XXXX XXXX, that : 1 ) a phone number was updated on the fraudulent account to my personal phone number, 2 ) approval for a Capital One Venture Card with a credit limit of {$2000.00} on this fraudulent account, and 3 ) the fraudulent account changed from paper statements to paperless statements. Following this, I contacted Capital One 's Credit program and alerted them of this fraudulent activity and requested them to open an investigation AND to close this account. I placed a freeze and fraud alert on my credit through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I froze my current credit card accounts as well ( not including my auto loan ).
