I am filing this complaint in response to a fraudulent XXXX collection account being reported by XXXX XXXX XXXX on my Equifax credit report. I did not authorize or open this account, and I have already submitted an FTC Identity Theft Report citing a national data breach in which my personal information was compromised. This account is a result of identity theft and must be permanently removed and blocked under 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ( FCRA 605B ). Additionally, the continued reporting of this account violates 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) due to failure to ensure maximum accuracy, especially since XXXX has already deleted this account from my report after conducting their investigation. If one bureau found it to be invalid, the others must follow suit to maintain consistency across all consumer reporting agencies. Equifaxs refusal to delete this inaccurate and fraudulent item is a violation of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), and identity theft protection laws. I demand permanent removal of this fraudulent tradeline. please note verification is NOT validation. Attached is my supporting documentation, including : My FTC Identity Theft Report My government-issued ID My Social Security card Proof that XXXX deleted this account from their system I request that this account be permanently deleted and blocked from reporting, and that Equifax credit bureaus reflect consistent, accurate, and lawful information.
