Consumer Narrative
I am filing a formal complaint against [ Experian XXXX Equifax XXXX TransUnion ] for failing to properly handle inaccuracies on my credit report in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). I disputed several negative items on my credit report that I believe are inaccurate. The credit bureau responded through the CFPB portal stating the items were verified. However, It has been more than XXXX days since I filed my dispute, and under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) Section XXXX ( a ) ( XXXX ) ( A ), you are legally required to notify me of the results of your reinvestigation within XXXX days. To date, I have not received any correspondence, written notification, or results regarding the disputes filed. Additionally, I have reason to believe the credit bureau did not conduct a reasonable investigation or a proper Method of Verification ( MOV ) as required under FCRA XXXX XXXX ( a ) ( XXXX ). It appears they simply confirmed the information electronically without contacting the furnishers or reviewing supporting documentation. An automated verification does not satisfy the FCRAs standard for a reasonable investigation. This mishandling has caused significant damage to my XXXX XXXX, affecting my ability to obtain fair credit opportunities. Because you have failed to comply with your legal obligations under the FCRA, you must immediately delete the disputed information from my credit report as a remedy for your non-compliance. I am requesting the CFPB assist in requiring [ Experian / Equifax XXXX TransUnion ] to : Immediately delete all disputed negative items from my credit report. Provide confirmation of the deletions in writing. Please send written confirmation of the deletions within XXXX days, or I will file formal complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ), the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ), and my State Attorney General, and I will explore legal remedies available to me. Thank you for your assistance.
