I called Barclays to open a dispute for a charge of {$33.00}, erroneously charged to my card by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/year>. I was transferred 3 times and eventually spoke to a woman called XXXX. XXXX took all the details os my dispute, but refused to open the dispute even though she is required by law to do so. The Fair Credit Billing Act Section 1666 ( a ) ( 3 ) ( B ) requires Barclays within 2 billing cycles, or at the latest with 90 days, to either 1. make corrections to my account or 2. after conducting a thorough investigation, send me a written explanation of why Barclays believes the amounts were correct. XXXX told me that because her systems were down she could no longer open a dispute. She requested that I call back in 30 minutes
