Consumer Narrative
I am submitting this complaint regarding the improper and unlawful reporting of several charge-offs and a repossession on my credit reports, which I recently reviewed. Despite my prior requests for removal, only XXXX account was deleted, while XXXX charge-offs and XXXX repossession remain. These include XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX, is also being reported. According to IRS Publication 4681, charge-offs and repossessions are considered a certificate of indebtedness and thus classified as income. Income can not be reported on a credit report and must be removed. Furthermore, I never received a 1099 form for any of the cancelled debts, which is required for proper tax filing. TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax are failing to maintain reasonable procedures as mandated by law and must be held accountable for these violations.
