Consumer Narrative
I am filing this complaint against Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion for serious violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) in relation to XXXX accounts XXXX from XXXX XXXX and XXXX from XXXX. These accounts were previously deleted from my credit reports after being disputed. However, all three bureaus have reinserted these accounts without providing the required written notice within five business days, as mandated under FCRA 1681i ( a ) ( 5 ) ( B ). There was no written certification from the furnishers ( XXXX XXXX and XXXX ), and I was never informed of the reinsertion. Additionally, when I disputed these accounts in the past, each bureau returned them as verified without providing : The method of verification The name and contact information of the entity that supposedly verified the account Any documentation supporting the validity of the data This violates FCRA 1681i ( a ) ( 6 ) ( B ) ( iii ), which requires this information be provided to the consumer when requested or when a dispute is completed. Moreover, after my dispute, all three bureaus updated or modified the disputed information, which is illegal if the account has not been fully verified and if no reinvestigation has occurred with proper procedures. Because of these repeated failures, I have suffered real harm, including : Denials of credit card and loan applications Increased interest rates Damage to my creditworthiness and financial reputation Emotional distress from ongoing reporting of incorrect and harmful data Despite my final written notices demanding deletion and warning of legal action, the bureaus have continued to mishandle the accounts and violate my consumer rights under federal law. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with how Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion have handled my credit information. I disputed XXXX accounts ( XXXX XXXX and XXXX ) that were previously removed from my credit reports, only to have them reappear later without any explanation or notice. I was not given proof of verification, no supporting documents, and no clear process was followed as required by law. This negligence has caused me to be denied credit, pay higher interest rates, and suffer financially and emotionally. I have tried to resolve this directly with all three credit bureaus through proper disputes and written requests, but they continue to violate my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I am now left with no choice but to escalate this to legal action and prepare for lawsuit if this situation is not resolved promptly and fairly.
