XXXXefferson Capital made changes to my report with out notifying me, which made my credit score decrease tremendously. They change my account from a charge off to collection and continued to report my account as collections without given me a notice of these changes. According to 15 U.S.C. 6802 : 1. Notice Requirements Financial institutions must provide customers with a clear and conspicuous privacy notice explaining what information they collect and how they share it. This notice must be provided when a customer relationship begins and annually thereafter. 2. Right to Opt-Out Consumers must be given a reasonable opportunity to opt out of having their nonpublic personal information ( NPI ) shared with nonaffiliated third parties ( i.e., companies not part of the same corporate group ). If the consumer opts out, the institution may not share that information with those third parties ( with some exceptions ). 3. Limits on Redisclosure Even when sharing is allowed, third parties can not further share the information, except in accordance with the original privacy policy.
