In XX/XX/year> my roommate XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was current on rent. XX/XX/year> I mediated to avoid eviction when the landlord refused assistance from a local non-profit agency offering to pay the rent for XX/XX/year> and XX/XX/year>, as is their right. However, because my roommate was not a relation or romantic partner XXXX XXXX XXXX stated my agreement did not apply to him and that I should leave his belongings in the apartment, as the landlord would now have to evict him. Instead of evicting him, the landlord chose to remove his belongings and bill me the final amount. When I disputed this with them in XX/XX/year> they then sent it to a debt collector. I sent the debt collector the recording from the hearing, as I've been unable to have a transcript typed by the court clerks, and they haven't responded except to the credit reporting agencies when I dispute the charge.
