Dear TransUnion, I am formally disputing the continued presence of the XXXX tradeline on my credit report. This account is not only inaccurate, but also duplicative, misleading, and in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) due to incomplete and outdated reporting. According to a documented response from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) the debt buyer who legally acquired this account in XXXX XXXX account was assigned to them and no longer belongs to XXXX. XXXX has since terminated all collection efforts and formally instructed all credit bureaus to delete their tradeline. Despite this, TransUnion continues to report the original XXXX account, which now meets the definition of double reporting under the FCRA ( 15 U.S. Code 1681i ). This practice : Misrepresents the current status of the debt Fails to reflect proper balance updates or account ownership May be construed as re-aging the account through misleading open date or status updates Is not being reported with a {$0.00} balance and closed status, which is required once an account is sold This incomplete and misleading reporting negatively impacts my credit profile and violates FCRA 1681s-2, which mandates the furnishing of accurate and complete information. As such, I am demanding the immediate permanent deletion of the XXXX tradeline from my TransUnion file. Please provide written confirmation that this account has been removed, or provide the method of verification ( MOV ) used to validate its continued reporting within 30 days, as required by federal law.
