Account -KIKOFF LENDING LLC / Account # XXXX I originally reached out to this company vis phone on XX/XX/XXXX/XXXX and explained that I have no relation to this company. I explained that they are reporting a {$16.00} balance on my credit reporting as a charge off and that this is hindering my credit terribly. The rep apologized and asked me to reach out via email. I emailed the company on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX. below : Good afternoon, I am sending this email to advise that there is an account reflecting negatively on my credit report ( detailed below ). I have no knowledge of this account. I called Kik off and spoke to someone on your support team who stated that the address and information provided did not match the records you all have on file. I would like to assume that this is fraud considering I have no knowledge of this company or this account. My name is XXXX XXXX, DOB XX/XX/XXXX, address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX IL XXXX ( I have also provided proof of identification below ). I would like this to be removed from my credit file immediately. With this email was a photo of my ID and the account information. I received an email back XX/XX/XXXX asking for the last 4 digits of my SSN and my phone number in which I provided that day. I was then told on XX/XX/XXXX that I would receive a message back within 3-5 business days as they complete an investigation with their fraud team. XXXX days later XX/XX/XXXX I still have yet to hear back. I asked for an update and received no response. I then filed a complaint with the XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX against this company. After filing a complaint I received an email back from this company on XX/XX/XXXX stating : Hi XXXX, This is XXXX with Kikoff Customer Escalations following up regarding your concern about the account in your name, which you mentioned you're not familiar with. I would first like to apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced and thank you for your patience and understanding as we have worked to investigate this for you. We have reviewed the application process and also considered any new information provided in your recent correspondence with us. Unfortunately based on this latest internal investigation of the account verification and approval process, there is insufficient evidence to support a fraudulent claim or removal of this tradeline. To be approved for a Kikoff loan/credit account, an applicants identity/personal information must be verified, including name, DOB, address, and SSN. In the case of this account, we have once again reviewed and reconfirmed the verification process of the information provided during account signup, all of which matched. We do sympathize with your situation and would take action if the evidence indicated a different result, but we are also responsible to report accurate information- which in this case does appear to be accurate. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out! I'm more than happy to help! Thanks, XXXX | Kikoff Customer Support I then responded : " Please send me the contract bearing my signature. As I stated I never created an account with you all. It took for me to file a complaint for you all to even reach back out to me!! Why would I default on {$16.00}!?? This is ridiculous and this should not be on my report if it is not mine. '' Customer then uploaded what appears to be a contract ( attached ). However, the contract does not show ANY of my personal information... none. It also does not show my signature. It provides no proof whatsoever that I have/had an account with them at any time. This company has failed to do a proper investigation, failed to response to me in a timely manner and has also failed to provide me with proof/evidence that I have or ever had an account with them.
