Unlawful debt collection practices, failure to acknowledge wage assignment revocation, refusal to initiate a payment plan, and repeated harassment. Complaint Details : I am filing a complaint against Northstar Lending for the following violations : 1. Failure to Acknowledge Wage Assignment Revocation On XX/XX/year>, I sent a formal revocation of my wage assignment to both Northstar Lending and my employer. Again on 3/09/2025 Under federal law, a wage assignment is voluntary and can be revoked at any time in writing. Northstar Lending has ignored my request and continues to threaten unauthorized payroll deductions. 2. Failure to Initiate Payment Plan They Offered Northstar Lending offered me a payment plan to resolve my debt. I responded and accepted their offer on XX/XX/year>. Despite my good-faith attempt to pay, they have not implemented the payment plan or provided further instructions. 3. Harassment & Daily Threatening Emails I have been receiving daily emails threatening wage garnishment, despite the lack of a court order. Wage garnishment without a court order is illegal under 15 U.S. Code 1673 ( Consumer Credit Protection Act ). Their repeated harassment is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ).
