I attempted to make a payment to OneMain Financial using a negotiable instrument on two separate occasions. On XX/XX/year>, I sent Certified Mail payments to two different addresses : OneMain Financials headquarters at XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, IN, and their indenture trustee, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY. Despite the packages being mailed on the same day to two different states, neither package was delivered, with no clear resolution from XXXX. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a second negotiable instrument via XXXX Priority Mail with signature confirmation to OneMain Financials headquarters in XXXX. This payment was delivered on XX/XX/year>, but it was rerouted to a post office box instead of the intended address. I paid extra for signature confirmation, and yet I did not receive that due to the bizarre rerouting of the payment. Under UCC 3-507, since OneMain Financial has rejected the negotiable instrument and failed to process it, they are legally required to return it to me. Despite multiple calls with OneMains customer service representatives, I have not received any satisfactory explanation for the mishandling or rerouting of my payments. OneMain has not acknowledged receipt or processed the payment, nor have they returned the original negotiable instrument.
